SOME OF OUR PROJECTS

Lamistas-25.jpg

LAMAS, PERU

Lamas Local Tourism Development Plan (San Martin, Peru).

We conducted comprehensive studies and interviews in the municipality of Lamas in northern Peru. These efforts delved into the tourism supply and demand, the population’s economic activity, and the level of tourism development in the region and the north corridor of Peru. This thorough analysis identified numerous opportunities for tourism development in the Lamista territory.

The plan’s final document, shared with the population, local associations, and authorities, enabled the municipality to win the national “De Mi Tierra Un Producto” competition and several grants to implement the plan. The plan has not only positively transformed the locality but also set the stage for a promising future. It has developed sustainable tourism by ensuring the protection and promotion of cultural heritage while preserving the natural environment.

EBOGO, CAMEROON

International Cooperation in Sustainable and Community Based Tourism:

Based in Ebolowa, the capital of Cameroon's Southern Region, our work focused on supporting sustainable tourism initiatives across the country. With a main mission in the Ebogo community, we managed Cameroon’s first UNWTO ST-EP (Sustainable Tourism for the Elimination of Poverty) Project, providing strategic guidance to the Ministry of Tourism (MINTOUR) and assisting in the establishment of the OECD (Ebogo Community Development Organization) alongside the UNWTO representative.

We engaged with local clients—municipalities, organizations, and small associations—to promote tourism development. Our contributions included participating in projects across Bamenda, Ngaoundéré, Maroua, Kribi, Campo Ma'an, and Ako'Akas, revising Cameroon’s Tourism Marketing Plan, and mapping the country’s tourism resources to enhance local economic growth through sustainable tourism practices.

MACHU PICCHU, PERU

We, as part of an international team of sustainable tourism consultants, played a significant role in the elaboration of the "Plan de Uso Turístico de Machu Picchu", bringing our expertise and experience to the project.

Our collaboration focused mainly on the social studies and general sustainability aspects of the various parts of the Plan and on presenting the team's studies' results and tourism planning proposals for 2015 - 2019 to various stakeholders in the private and public sectors.

Our team also took a significant step in the direction of sustainable tourism by creating a new tourism experience, 'Ruta 4 '. This initiative was aimed at distributing visitors across the Machu Picchu Historic Sanctuary territory, and we are proud to say that it is now a reality, thanks to our collective efforts.

In a testament to our expertise and dedication, the authorities entrusted us with the final evaluation of the Plan's implementation in 2020. This vote of confidence underscores the value of our contributions and the trust placed in our team.

PUCALLPA, PERU

The Centro National de Formación al Turismo (CENFOTUR) approached us to develop a training program for trainers in Sustainable Territorial Planning for Tourism.

The training, crucially involving local public and private players, aimed to equip them with the knowledge and tools they needed to train themselves and pass on the content they had learned to their teams. This was a key step towards enabling a more harmonious tourism development in the Pucallpa region, one of the central Amazonian regions of Peru.

The training course was a resounding success, a testament to all involved's dedication and hard work. Our founder, Antoine George, was subsequently called upon to train trainers at the national level at the CENFOTUR training center in Lima, a clear indication of the program's effectiveness and impact.
